In the heart of river Cecina Valley, "Le Selve" - this is the name of our farm - is mainly well known for the quality of fresh and cured pork meats. We produce them by following ancient peasant recipes from animals we breed ourselves in a natural way and in the woods.


We plant our fields (about 50 hectares) mainly with wheat, corn,
barley, hay and straw.
Since five years, we have a olive trees plantation, near our farm
house San Maurizio.
We breed many animals: calfs, chicken, hens, rabbits, pigs.
Some years ago, we started breeding pigs and cinte senesi (a special
and ancient kind of black pig typical of the area all around Siena)
in the wood, in the a natural state. This makes meat so healthy and
tasting.
Since 1983, we sell the meat we produce, directly in our farm. In
our shop you can find fresh meat, ham and salami that we produce by
following the peasant tradition. We also sell cheese, wine and oil
from our area.
Our shop is open on Thursdays (in the afternoon) and on Freedays and
Saturdays (morning and afternoon).
For our strong commitment in keeping traditional flavours of Cecina
Valley and for the constant attention to the quality of products,
in 2005 we were awarded the prize "Raspi" by the judges of VolterraGusto.
